Some days you've just gotta self indulge yourself and today has been one of those days where ive been immersed in Van Morrison and my old vinyl...Oh Sweet Thing, Listen to the Lion, Veedon Fleece, Sense of Wonder, Poetics Champions Compose, Madame George, Ballerina, Astral Weeks, Hard Nose the Highway, Inarticulate Speech of the Heart, Tupelo Honey, Tir Na Nog, In the Garden/You Send Me, Town Called Paradise, The Healing Has Begun, It's All in the Game, You Know What They're Writing About, Rave on John Donne...

Been learning to play Sweet Thing on guitar all day and was amazed to learn that Ronnie Montrose played guitar on Listen to the Lion, one of my all time fav songs. Thats whats great about music your always learning something new.

"Its too late to stop now" mate.

Just finished reading Van Morrison - No Surrender by Johnny Rogan - the Biography - which must be one of the best music related reads ever (incredibly well researched too) . Got to be honest though Van Morrison comes across as a right c*nt in real life.

That is because that is exactly what he is. I have seen him live, (I may have mentioned this before) but he is one petulant, sulky, bad mannered arsehole, threatening to walk off if we didn't respond to his liking.
However the OP has superb taste and he remains one of my favorite musicians, mainly because of his versatility.

He does have a reputation for being ''difficult'' to get on with. He must have something going for him though; he bagged himself a former Miss Ireland for a wife;

when I said in my earlier post "we were taking our seats at Wembley 2009" - I of course meant 1999 - the Gillingham play-off.

I don't know how to edit my post so if someone else can it would be much appreciated.

Love him. Astral Weeks IMO is along with Dark Side Of the Moon the best album ever. Anything on Moondance, too.

Other personal favourites are, Come Here My Love, September Night, Inarticulate Speech of the Heart, Warm Love, Rave On John Donne, wow I could go on for hours.
Great for an autumnal day too. :)

Rave on down through the industrial revolution,the atomic and nuclear age.
Rave on words on printed page.
