Shit you not just watched the Fernandes interview on sky where he says he didn’t think he touched the ball but the referee told him that he did touch it and that he had to have touched it for it to be onside ! I’m fuckin speechless
Don't think it'd make any difference, they'd still be hard faced and blag it as they do now. Reminds me of Westminster. The referee assaociation are fucking cowards. They have consistently made huge fucking errors and continue to do so even with the introduction of VAR.
As said above, get the referee mic'd up and the VAR ref so that it can be at the very least fed through to the tv studios for all to hear
Instead they hide behind their wall of silence knowing they cannot be held accountable - why all the secrecy !
Changes needed
You need new, fresh, young people to embrace the technologyVAR has to be being undermined on purpose by PGMOL, there is no way the officials can display this much incompetency for so long for it to be anything else.
It's a quick fix, mic up the refs and we can hear their conversation with the VAR official.
All it would have took was for the VAR official to say in the refs ear he needs to look at that challenge on Gundogan (or for the ref to ask VAR official if he needs to look at it). The ball goes out of play the ref watches it back on the screen and talks through what he's seen and the action he's going to take.
VAR used correctly will be a huge benefit to the game, this bastardised version and those responsible for its implementation/interpretation are killing the game.
I just watched a replay of the goal on the BBC website. It's clear that Fernandes does not touch the ball. It's blatant cheating by the VAR and referee to allow that goal.Shit you not just watched the Fernandes interview on sky where he says he didn’t think he touched the ball but the referee told him that he did touch it and that he had to have touched it for it to be onside ! I don’t disagree that there’s nothing Tielemans can do, but regardless, he’s kicked the back of Werners calf, so it’s a clear foul. Kicking him accidentally doesn’t alter the fact that he kicked him.Not fishing at all, i'm genuinely confused why this incident has got so much attention. No way is Werner in control of the ball. He comes from behind Tielemans whose already playing the ball, whats Tielemans supposed to do in that situation?
I agree, it would go down as "careless" so wouldn't be carded but still a foul.I don’t disagree that there’s nothing Tielemans can do, but regardless, he’s kicked the back of Werners calf, so it’s a clear foul. Kicking him accidentally doesn’t alter the fact that he kicked him.
I’m sure there’s a ref who posts on here who could potentially clarify what the law states as I cba looking & have no idea if there’s anything which states about an accidental foul?
The way i see if Werner gets to the ball its a penalty all day, but as he doesnt Tielemans is the player in control and about to play the ball Werner just sticks his foot in and impedes him. I'd love to know too i'm clearly in the minority on this one, pundits, refs and fans but I cant for the life of me work out why, :)I don’t disagree that there’s nothing Tielemans can do, but regardless, he’s kicked the back of Werners calf, so it’s a clear foul.
