In the preamble to the laws of the game is the following -

The Laws must also contribute to the safety and welfare of players and it is The IFAB’s responsibility to react quickly and appropriately to support the game’s participants, through the Laws themselves, when the need arises.

In this case it is, to me at least, that the reaction of the ex-players including those who I would not have considered friends of City indicates that the ‘Spirit’ of the game would be to take action against Henderson and for VAR to refer the matter back to the on-field referee. Herein lies a weakness of many referees, they hide behind a particular interpretation of the laws and have no appreciation of the Spirit of the law.

One of my mates gave up his season card a couple of years ago after over 40 years citing the same reasons.
He goes to watch lower league amd non-league football now instead.

At least it was worth the wait of standing around for 10 minutes as it allowed the officials the chance to use the technology to come to the right decision according to the laws of the game.

Loads I know have done the same making Bridge Celtic the best supported non league team in Tameside
I’ve stopped now too but will renew my ST for my grandson otherwise this shit stain of a club will deny my son the opportunity to take and sit next to his own son

I told him he should have kept it and let one of the others use it.
I've had mine since 1988 and am keeping it as I know I'll never get one back if I let it go.
Am sacking off European games next year as they are taking the piss adding extra games along with the extra inconvenience of even more parking restrictions.
