VAR Discussion Thread

And, if Trossard hadn’t been fouling the West Ham player before he got anywhere near Raya, you’d have a point. But he was, so you haven’t.
the point cause you have joined a discussion in the middle of it and clearly havent read it all is that all the complaints about VAR are irrelevant. Get rid of it ...fine......but we will still get wrong decisions. ...keep it, people will conintue to waste time arguing over something we have no contorl over and wont change...as Pep says, concentrate on what we can do, work harder, play better.

All teams get wrong decisions -look at what just happened int he Utd vs forrest game....VAR asked the ref to review the handball and the ref still gives the goal...so VAR did its job an the ref still got it wrong.....

VAR isnt the problem...its human error that is the problem and that aint going to change so people should just stop bitching about it

and to your point....every team and defenders do that every single corner in every single match.....they either get given or they dont....some do, some dont.....so again its irrelvant....the foul on the keeper was clear as day and only bias is stopping people from acknowledging that...

Carry on blaming refs if we fail to winthe title...bury heads in sand if you want...go screm at the moon and live in some echo chamner where you only acknowledge what goes for you - all fine - but that doesnt win you things...

What will win us titles int he future is us being better so that the mistakes by refs dont affect us.

VAR used today again for cheating. Its getting worse now, not just incompetence.
VAR wasnt the mistake.....VAR recommended rightfully to look at teh incident....the ref made the call for the goal to be given not VAR.

VAR actually did its job today...the ref made the wrong call as it was clearly a handball

At least that what it said on the commentary I was listening to

You seem to be putting a lot of effort into bitching about people bitching about VAR. Personally, I enjoyed football more before VAR. I don’t think it has helped resolve disputed decisions on the field and it just delays the spontaneity of celebrations.

agree

football is better without VAR - 100%

it will give people less reason to bitch about decisions

People need to fucking get on with it and focus on what we can improve on instead of looking at what we cannot control. ..and stop making excuses

accidentally the ball hitting your hand then going to someone else who scores is fine they changed the rule few years back! Now if it was deliberate then it was handball

Not for for purpose.

Utter farcical what’s happening with the manipulation of the game.
They have had big calls go their way in both games. At city ground a corner which wasn't and Casemiro scores, the equaliser where a player was in an offside position in front of the keeper but given and today's is the worst of the lot. Teams at our level might as well not bother turning up and give them points in advance so they don't get any match day income through playing us.

If you are referring to Utd's second goal you are incorrect. VAR actually did its job for once. Picked up on a clear and obvious error from the referee for a blatant handball.

What is worrying is the referee presumably HAS seen the incident at the time and thought it was fine. Whilst we've been crying out for referees to have some backbone and stick with their original decision instead of the formality of going to the screen and overturning their on field decision. This **** then goes and decides to ignore VAR in one of the easiest handball decisions of the season.

I'm fuming. Fortunately for Forest's sake they are safe from relegation otherwise they could have been playing championship football heavily influenced by this abysmal decision at Old Toilet.

VAR should have called that out straight away. I dont know why this was decided by the ref, it isnt subjective, its a straight handball leading to a goal.
