Vat on Independent school fees?

The odd thing is after a google search I cannot find a fee paying school in the Aberdeen area that charges fees p.a. lower than Monica's annual income - odd that a Telegraph journalist can't do that research

£12,500 is basically the personal allowance that people often earn for strategic, tax purposes. It is completely inconceivable that anyone earning that amount of money (which is about 21 hours a week at minimum wage) would be able to send their child to private school, and it’s actually absurd to suggest they could. It’s a completely preposterous claim and there is definitely far more to this than meets the eye.

I earn about double that and still can't afford a Ferrari

Sometimes, in the rush to creative a particular narrative, journalists produce articles that are predicated on a situation that is impossible, which simply serves, at least to anyone with reasonably developed critical thinking skills, to completely undermine the point they are trying to make.

How could anyone earning that, and that alone, ever afford private education? Even it is was £2k pa?

You have to wonder how this 'story' got past the editors desk, or maybe not given the owners.

Most likely because the truth no longer matters, only clicks and engagement.

I’m really surprised that no paper has run with a story of how Starmer has literally frozen their granny to death due to the removal of the WFA.

It doesn’t need to be true, just tug on the heartstrings and whip the social media frothers into another frenzy.

Looking out of the window this morning i'd guess that story will appear tomorrow.
