Vicky Kloss

I know waiting on the long game can be so frustrating, I think I know as much as many having been going to see City since 1952 and still going with my three lads at 72 but I do hope before I do one we will see City elevated to the highest level in football circles along with Barcelona and Real Madrid but we need to win the Champions League to do that and we will, In the meantime Vicky and co are carrying out company policy and in my opinion doing it very well, slowly slowly catchy monkey is the name of the game. I don't post too often as I have received abuse in the past and at my age I find that very upsetting. I enjoy reading your posts and being part of you all and that is usually enough for me but I felt I must defend Vicky and her team that is all
Very decent post. On a very general level of respecting people, I hope a few people take note

Nev , I commend you for defending a friend or associate but, sadly for people like me who have been fans since their childhood - have had enough of being told to wait!

It's been 8yrs and there has been little change, I certainly do not wish to endure another 8 yrs of this media mockery and hope Vicky listens to the average fan who has had enough and wants a change.

Some people are born defeatist and can wait for as long as it takes (sometimes a generation) but, for people like me who aspire to better things, this message does not resonate to anything more than a victim, second best attitude. Not calling you this but, the message the club / media team is trying to say does.

I think you'll find that there is a significant body of opinion that agrees with the club's pragmatic approach to this problem. I cannot believe that intimidation of the media, either collectively or individually, could possibly work. Indeed, it would surely aggravate a position that some of us perceive to be gradually changing. It's far from being victims, it's being realistic and pragmatic. Our revenge will be the sweeter for the waiting.

How is playing the long game (intelligently) deemed defeatist?

Personally, I'm glad our owners continue to play the long game and blast our competitors out of the water.

'Not in my lifetime' seems quite apt.

Sorry guys, I just don't agree and I have never referenced anything aggressive or disrespectful. Just that there is another way if the club wished to explore it. I certainly do not condone a Ferguson hairdryer approach - just a smarter approach. So many times in the media we see public opinion sway with a tidy strategy and this is where we could do with a PR guru on our side. If we sit and wait, we will wait for a very long time indeed.

We must do our talking on the pitch. We are talking about impressing the masses and great football is great football, language doesnt play a part when you can see it with your own eye's. Let the UK media do what they always do, which is justify themselves.

It will change when the media has a material interest to fawn over us as they do over Man Utd and that will happen gradually as the club grows. Getting to another Wembley Final this week is another small step on the way.

It is definitely the long game and is obviously the policy of the club. A club that desires success but always allied with respect. Things are changing gradually and will continue to and I guarantee when permanent success arrives, as it will. the media, all aspects of it, will be falling over themselves to get a piece of Manchester City. I don't post that often but I do know Vicky and her team are fully aware of what you all think and are addressing it. Have you noticed a certain ex player has cut down the nasty snide remarks about us recently I wonder who sorted him out, well I do know but mum's the word. Enjoy the ride fellow blues it may be a long one but when you reach the summit, as we will, the view from the top is beautiful.

Anyone know who the ex player (being referred to) is?
