Victoria Wood RIP

A very very funny & talented lady and yet clearly shy who, despite her fame, was never comfortable with her celebrity status nor made a career out of mocking others; there's no doubt she will be greatly missed. Her observational comedy series, and especially Dinner Ladies, were brilliantly written and acted by a fantastic ensemble cast with some truly hilarious moments and throwaway one-liners.

2016 been another bad year for lost talent. RIP Victoria

Went along to see Victoria Wood, Free Trade Hall late 80's, as my wife liked her. By the end of the show I was a big fan too. Loved her stuff ever since. She's given a lot of people loads of laughs over the years.

Prestwich's finest, my mum thought she was hilarious, although her humour was lost on me, she was a talented lady. RIP
Second finest please.

That's a shock. She used to live Bamford way, on the same bus route as me. She did some temping after uni and I'd started work. She used to be on the same bus most mornings and there was only one an hour so you tended to see the same people. She'd be on the top deck, on the back seat and I'd usually be towards the back. Obviously had no idea who she was then but when she started to appear on TV I recognised her as "the girl from the No 4 bus".

Dinnerladies was absolutely brilliant.

She used to live in the flat about my wife's mate in Cheetham Hill when she started out. A working class genius from North Manchester [no-one is perfect] who detested the Tories and all other right wingers. The good go first.

I remember watching "An Audience With Victoria Wood" repeatedly as a youngster............think we only had 3 VHS tapes and recording programmes and watching them back was a novelty.

This hasn't been a good year has it?!!!

Sorry mate, goes without saying, she was Prestwich's second finest, although an anecdote as to knowing her a bit better than what seat on the bus she sat on was expected, you are slipping, GDM will have your best name dropper on Bluemoon moniker if you arent careful.
