It has been a terrible year losing those who have been part of our lives, more so now losing this lovely Prestwich lass.

Not my taste in comedy but 62 is far to young to die. People on the radio going a bit overboard, nations sweetheart etc etc but cancer, having just lost my Mum to it, is a horrible way to die.

My thoughts are with her family and friends.

Very sad news. I can remember her being on New Faces. Took the wife to see one of her shows and it was funny.

Decent actress too. I thought she was excellent as Eric Morecombe's mum in the BBC's (I think) Morecombe and Wise drama

I agree. To bring up and deliberately mention someone's political leanings at the time of their death is a tad crass and tasteless to say the least.

Just watching some of her later work on TV now and much of it is painfully unfunny. Full respect for her early stuff though.
