On the other hand, any contact where a rag's shadow was near the box will be referred and a definite penalty given.

Yeah this can't be left to the refs to decide what needs to be reviewed... whoever proposed this doesn't understand why there is a call for it. If the refs were left with the power to decide what needs reviewing, knowing our luck it would result in our appeals still being ignored and to make double sure we never get off lightly in any game for any incident.

Refs/Linos never think they are wrong... even when they are. That's the biggest reason for it.

Give the managers some control, a buzzer(already wearing a wristwatch for the goal line technology) that can be used 2-3 times max during a game, like a penalty call or a bad tackle.

It needs trialling at youth level tournaments first so the refs and video/refs can understand the nuances of its application. Just throwing in a high level game at a days notice is reckless.

That's the point. At this short notice it will be a failure, creating another excuse for FIFA to delay bringing it in permanently.

I know what you mean, but they hide behind the "only 1 viewing to make a decision" excuse

This gets rid of that excuse so if they've seen Big Nose smash someone's face in with his elbow from half a dozen different angles everybody will know they're lying if nothing is given
