Ever since I've got my new laptop, the videos on the OS have been running slowly and not working properly. And it seems I can only watch the videos if the website decides to show them in low quality.

Can anyone help?

try it hardwired to the router if its top bollox, its your wireless signal

I still have this problem, some videos work fine, others audio fine but picture is jumpy.

I've done that as well. Ah well. Haha.

update flash, shockwave & java

also check with your graphics manufacturer website to see if they have a driver update

I can't watch them on Firefox 5, which is what I usually use but they're fine on IE on mine.

Have you changed from a wired to wireless connection?

My videos have recently decided to play in near HD quality since I've moved house and on a new internet provider thing. It's good however on occasions can buffer every so often, at times like this I'd prefer to watch it in medium quality without the buffering. Should have an option to choose the quality.
