The influence of Sven on Roberto was by all accounts important, and one of the hallmarks of Sven's method was to have what he called cultural leaders in his teams. I'm guessing Roberto didn't find too many when he arrived here and Patrick is his first cultural leader.

Hughes bought tons of capable players but he knew f**k all about leadership from suckling Fergies tit most of his sligthly above mediocre career.

Vieira is a real leader and if Hughes was still here he would dismiss him as being too old, too italian, too french, or what ever the hell else his bully minded brand of leadership told him was the right thing to do.
