I love how when Vieira came out with his comments the other day it was United fans saying you're cracking and the pressure is getting to you.

Few days later and Fergie adds his little two-penneth and it's City fans who then claim United are feeling the pressure.

I do enjoy reading both forums and seeing basically the same stuff come from you all.

Noone's feeling the pressure. It's what sides do at the top to keep everything interesting. Vieira, Fergie, Savic, Ferdinand etc don't go running for the press asking for an interview to start spewing shite about the 'other Manchester' club. The media come for them and often put their own little spin on it.

It's a title race which is very close. Would everyone including the neutrals want both sides to keep quiet? No, it would be boring. You're both at it and it's for hype reasons and solely that.

If someone cracks, fair enough. But I can't see it personally.

I actually enjoy threads like these rather than the comments themselves.

I agree, it's funny because both sets of fans think they have one over on each other.

In reality none of this matters. City players won't be thinking about what Fegie said at Stoke on Saturday and United players won't be thinking about what Vieira said on Monday night against Fulham.
So why was so much made of Rafa's rant and the same with Keegan. Both of which coincided with their teams then falling apart.

So much there that is bollocks.

It's been Utd's players talking about us all season. Not vice versa.

Mancini has refused to be drawn into "mind games" but Fergie is clearly rattled by Viera's comments which is very funny to see given how it's usually the other way arounf (see Rafa and Keegan)

I find it laughable that you think Fergie is cracking. He's been 'doing this' for years.

Vieira comes out with a comment about Scholes. Fergie comes out with a comment about Tevez. That's it.

It's not as if he's just launched a tyrade into City labelling them shit and how United will definitely win the title etc is it?

It's all fun & games to all parties concerned.

Touche.....Rag idiot in work the other day was going on about this. And i quote from the fools mouth... 'dont play fergie at mind game's, just ask keegan and benitez' AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. what a complete wanker he is. Loves united but never goes

Re: Vieira - the offensive begins! (Merged)

Agree about the unneccesary merge, but no big deal.

On topic, it's the tone of the reaction that gives him away...

Don't remember City reacting much at all to any of the jibes coming our way - vaguely remember Vinny skilfully dismissing criticism of his tackling technique, but apart from that we've kept our counsel?

This, while not quite a Keegan love it style meltdown, was definitely a bit foot stampy, a bit threatening and utterly toothless.

I don't buy that Fergie is the 'master of the mind games' he's just never really been under real pressure when they have been played, so it was always his opponent who was likely to crack. Not sure that is the case here - Mancini, Vieira and our players are made of sterner stuff than the likes of Keegan, Wenger and Benitez.

Fuck him and fuck them. Hope it really cranks up now between both sides and let's see who crumbles.

Rattled and forgetful

Paul Scholes recalls refusing to play for Man Utd

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes tells BBC Radio 5 live how he refused to play in a League Cup tie in 2001.

Scholes says what he did was "equally bad if not worse" than Carlos Tevez, who apparently refused to warm up against Bayern Munich.

The press conference giggles were reminiscent of the "Harry" crowd are in town. SKY getting giddy as well. 1-0 City

Media like a good story. For me, neither rants had an effect on Newcaslte's or Liverpool's performance. You'd have to be some twat of a player to be thinking about what another manager said during your own game.

You're honestly not going to compare Fergie talking about Tevez in response to Vieira talking about Scholes with Rafa & Keegan are you?

Mancini is cool as ice. Rarely says parting shots and United as a club. Fergie himself praised Mancini over his handling of the Tevez affair.

Vieira pops up and adds hit bit. Fergie replies.

Fair enough, if you see Fergie screaming 'I would love it if we beat them, love it' or stating out Rafa-esque 'facts' then i'll start to believe you.

but cracking? Come off it. Neither of the two MCR clubs are.

But there's been a tirade of rag players and former rags giving it large over the last month
All I've heard from our side is Mancini saying United will win so we have to, Kompany saying the same and Nasri also saying he wants both teams to keep on winning, so it comes to a showdown at our gaff

Then Vieira's complimentary comment about how good a player Scholes is, but the rags have no one to replace him

Has Fergie forgot Scholes once refused to play for him ?

And? The media love it. Most are interviews where the comments are edited anyway. It's all hype.

Vieira's comment was mainly based on United's desperation rather than being complimentary of Scholes, you know that. Yet, do you reckon anybody is really arsed?

I don't think any of them deep inside give a fuck what the other lot say. They'll just pipe up in the press to keep this whole thing as interesting as possible.
