Hello everyone, I'm a visiting West Ham fan from Kumb.com

I'm doing a 'View From The Away End' style questionnaire ahead of the game this weekend to get your views on a few things. Once I've got some decent replies I'll be posting them on Kumb.com so I'll leave a link to the thread once it's up.

1. What is your prediction for Saturday?

2. Which West Ham players are you concerned about?

3. Which West Ham players, if any, would make it into your line up?

4. Describe West Ham in three words.

5. What is your favourite memory of past City V West Ham games?

6. What do you think of West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium?

7. Where do you think West Ham will finish this year?

8. Can you recommend a decent away pub for visiting fans?

Thanks in advance for your replies. Feel free to let rip or engage in a mutual City/West Ham love in, whatever takes your fancy. Best of luck for the rest of the season, just not this weekend of course!

1. 3-1 to city.
2. Payet as I think he's been the find of the season and is quality.. Is lanzini fit? He's another one who has come to the prem and caught the eye.
3. The two mentioned above. Maybe Collins too as we need a no nonsense centre half.
4. Favourite other team........I always look out for the hammers scoreline, I think us and you lot are on the same level fan wise, maybe it was our hatred for utd but we've always had respect for eachother.
5. I wasn't there but I think it was in the 80s when the west ham fans came up to the city fans after we'd got relegated and clapped us and gave us the thumbs up. I've heard about it from so many fans over the years.
6. I think it's great, am gutted there will be no Upton Park though as it's one of the old skool grounds with plenty of history but unfortunately football moves quickly and you got to keep your finger on the pulse.
7. I think top 6 defo. As long as you stay injury free then no problem. It's one of them seasons so anything can happen.
8. Too many to mention, just go to Northern Quarter or into the centre of piccadilly and bobs yer uncle.
Good luck for the season.
COYI.

1. What is your prediction for Saturday? 2-2 draw

2. Which West Ham players are you concerned about? None

3. Which West Ham players, if any, would make it into your line up? Like your keeper and noble.

4. Describe West Ham in three words. Fucking great club

5. What is your favourite memory of past City V West Ham games? Colin hendry last minute winner at Upton Park

6. What do you think of West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium? A shame but great opportunity

7. Where do you think West Ham will finish this year? 8th

8. Can you recommend a decent away pub for visiting fans? No!

Up the hammers - been my second club for 30 years.

1. 1-1 sorry to say goodbye to the Boleyn
2. Payet seems a great find
3. Payet
4. Favourite London Team. Had a few friends over the years who are Hammers, always a lot of mutual respect, your lot hate the scum as well and you've nearly always played decent football (or tried to anyway)
5. The respect shown by your fans when we were relegated at your place. Class
6. Good luck, expect a bit of shit from opposition fans about it, you seem to have a bargain deal so make the most of it. You can bet the airwaves will be full of Arsenal and Spurs (and Chelsea Scousers and the Scum) if you really start to threaten their position in the top 4. What we have come to realise is the established clubs dont like what they perceive as teams not entitled ruining their ambitions, the media is full of ex players and fans of those clubs so it will come from all angles if you get success. You better get thicker skin as you will soon go from being everyone's second club to being hated and slagged off.
7. Hopefully in Europe, even better would be top 4, there is a chance with so many teams seemingly struggling and not being able to put a run of wins together
8. Best if you drink in town and taxi up to the game for kick off IMO but why drink in Manchester when the game is in London ;-)

Come on you irons (but not on Saturday of course)

Great shout on number 8. I was too busy thinking of questions to really see if they made sense! My bad.

1, 1-1
2. Sakho and Lanzini
3. I do like Lanzini but Im not sure hed get into our midfield
4. Always played decent football when I was growing up , were my favourite london side
5. League cup 1984 at upton park was a cracking game , also when you applauded us and wished us luck when we got relegated in the 80s , always had respect for you since
6 If it goes as well as our move has , good luck to you
7 A top 6 finish is a real possibility
8 Anywhere in the Northern quarter lots of decent bars

On number 5 I was there that day in 87 and it is still one of the greatest memories I have in my football supporting life.
On 6 it pissed Spuds off so more power to your elbow!
If City didn't win the league I'd raise a glass if you did it one day. Proper club!

I'm too tired to fill this form out tonight but I'll tell you something, I fucking like your club. I really hope the new stadium pushes the club further and you push into the top four. Would not mind sharing success with the Irons at all. Proper club, proper fans.

1. Heart says 3-1, current head says 2-2, typical city head says '2-1 hammers'. Honestly could go either way, depends which side to our team turns up.

2. Payet all day long, pulls the strings, great skill, great technique, works hard. Could play for anyone in the league.

3. Payet would have a good shout, I reckon Cresswell is just as good if not better than Clichy/Kolarov. Winston Reid could get into our team with Kompany out. Honourable mention for Lanzini.

4. Great Club (&) Fans

5. I'll go for the most painful game when I was 12 years old, 05-06 FA Cup quarter-final, thought we had a chance of a trophy that year. Great game that you got the best of us in, hazy memories of Howard Webb screwing us over. Thought I'd never see us win a trophy after that. Special mention to your lot clapping us off as we got relegated in the 80's, heard all about that from family and have nothing but respect for your club.

6. Great move for your club, with a massive new stadium, the new TV money and being based in London, West Ham have a great chance of becoming the next Spurs (not meant as an insult), by that I mean challenging for Europe on a regular basis with a chance of Champions League/Trophies.

7. I have West Ham down as challenging for 4th, however you still have results in you like last week. Could throw a blanket over Leicester, Man Utd, West Ham & possibly Liverpool. With Us, Arsenal and Spurs filling the top 3. I think ultimately you'll be 6th. You need this 20 goal a season striker your owners are talking about.

8. Can't really go wrong with anywhere in town and then just walk to the stadium.

All the best.

1. 2-1 City. Very hard to predict given you don't know what City will turn up and even more unpredictable, you don't know which West Ham will turn up.

2. Payet is the obvious one. Don't need to say much about him his football has done the talking, probably signing of the season so far. With respect, you'll do well to keep hold of him. Lanzini looks a real player too but he's injured isn't he? Likewise, Carroll would be worth worrying about if he could stay fit

3. Not sure anyone would make our starting lineup when all fit, it's very strong. Payet would make the squad Maybe Winston Reid would right now given our current defensive injuries. A solid no-nonsense defender.

4. Relatable, decent, old-school. Pre-takeover I always felt like West Ham were the City of the South, a good bunch of fans that love their club and choose to support them despite having more successful neighbours that they could of followed. Nothing but respect for you lot. One of the very few clubs i don't hate.

5. Wasn't around when we ewre relegated at Upton park, from recent memory it would probably be the 2-0 win first game of the season under Sven after he had signed a boat-load of players in a short space of time. Everything just clicked, Elano absolutely ran the show and we looked brilliant. Also the 9-0 aggregate win in the cup semi final a few years back. Nothing particularly special about the game it was jsut the way we handled the ties very professionally when the "typical city" tag still hadn't been removed and we were all anticipating a shock defeat in typical city fashion.

6. Love Upton Park, a proper football ground very much reminds me of maine road. Plus it's always have a good laugh in the pub with the 360 degrees bar with half away and half home fans (it's name escapes me) However i think for West Ham to push on the move is needed. If the club gets pricing right (£60 for this weekends game is obscene!) and you can attract a much bigger crowd on a regular basis it can give you the financial lift needed to turn West Ham into yearly European contenders and maybe even higher.

7. Realistically, anywhere from 5th-10th this season, it depends on whether you can keep your better players fit and develop some consistency. There's a group of clubs right now, the likes of Palace, Stoke, West Ham, Liverpool, Everton and Southampton that with some luck could all potentially push on and do a Leicester and challenge for Europe. I don't think you'll manage it this year but if you can keep hold of your better players and with the extra income generated from the new stadium you've got a great base to work from and could be in a much better position to challenge next year. Going to say 8th this year.

8. Any carpark in the middle of Stockport. Bring 5 lads though yeah, no more. Hello, is that West Ham?

1. What is your prediction for Saturday?
2-2

2. Which West Ham players are you concerned about?
Andy Carroll

3. Which West Ham players, if any, would make it into your line up?
Payet

4. Describe West Ham in three words.
Man City Doppleganger

5. What is your favourite memory of past City V West Ham games?
Was at Upton Park when City were relegated in 9187. Was sat in your end and at the end all your fans invaded the pitch. We went on and two of us walked up to the City end and climbed over to some strange stares. Some time later your fans came over looking for a fight. City sang "We're going down you're not" much to WHU fans' amusement and that was that. Scarves swapped, hands shook and it was the same all the way to the station. Class and how it should be.

6. What do you think of West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium?
Its a great opportunity. Sad to see an iconic stadium go but thats the price of progress. Hope if works.

7. Where do you think West Ham will finish this year?
Hopefully above United and I'd like to see you in Europe for your first season at the OS.

8. Can you recommend a decent away pub for visiting fans?
At City you mean? The pubs around the ground are shite. Seriously shite. Stay in town which is a short walk, taxi, bus or tram away and take your pick from the many, many bars in the Northern Quarter. Avoid ones in Piccadilly which are equally shite!

1. What is your prediction for Saturday?
2-1 City.

2. Which West Ham players are you concerned about?
Payet mainly.

3. Which West Ham players, if any, would make it into your line up?
Payet mainly. Probably none.

4. Describe West Ham in three words.
Proper London club.

5. What is your favourite memory of past City V West Ham games?
Everything looking perfect under Thaksin and Sven!

6. What do you think of West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium?
It's been handled appaulingly and I'm not convinced it's the home for a Premier League club.

7. Where do you think West Ham will finish this year?
7th.

8. Can you recommend a decent away pub for visiting fans?
The Waldorf is popular with away fans. Perhaps The Crown & Anchor in the Northern Quarter.

1. What is your prediction for Saturday?

It's a couple of games since we let in one of those comical goals. Hopefully we have a fully-firing strike force - Wiiiiiiist Hiiiiiiim 1 City 2

2. Which West Ham players are you concerned about?

All of em!

3. Which West Ham players, if any, would make it into your line up?

That big bugger at the back!

4. Describe West Ham in three words.

Best London Club

5. What is your favourite memory of past City V West Ham games?

Kinky scoring in the loss in the FA Cup and Bert Trautmann getting sent off for kicking the ball up the ref's arse when the fifth and offside goal went in for a 1-5 reverse at Maine Road.

6. What do you think of West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium?

Always good to move to a brand newish ground.

7. Where do you think West Ham will finish this year?

Higher than CFC!

8. Can you recommend a decent away pub for visiting fans?

Nope.

Thanks in advance for your replies. Feel free to let rip or engage in a mutual City/West Ham love in, whatever takes your fancy. Best of luck for the rest of the season, just not this weekend of course!

1. What is your prediction for Saturday?
tough old fixture this, Bilic seems to progressing West Ham. Id like to think City can take it, 2-1 win, but i wouldn't be overly surprised if it was a draw.

2. Which West Ham players are you concerned about?
Payet is a danger but Enner Valencia for me is the danger, very lively player who will look to take advantage of de michelis' ageing legs

3. Which West Ham players, if any, would make it into your line up?
not sure!

4. Describe West Ham in three words.
household footballing name

5. What is your favourite memory of past City V West Ham games?
6-0 and 3-0 in the league cup came at a time when we looked in unstoppable form, some of the best football ever played by City

6. What do you think of West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium?
the club has ambition to grow but sadly i think it will ultimately detriment the original loyal fanbase

7. Where do you think West Ham will finish this year?
you need to keep the foot on the pedal and not suffer from the usual loss of steam around february that many teams do who find themselves in and around european places after new year. you could get top 7.

8. Can you recommend a decent away pub for visiting fans?
manchester you mean? i like the Marble Arch and The Angel

1. What is your prediction for Saturday? It's a big week for us, I think we'll win 2-0.

2. Which West Ham players are you concerned about? Andy Carrol, I think he could have a field day against Ottamendi and Demichelis. Would have prefered Mangala to match him.

3. Which West Ham players, if any, would make it into your line up? Without wanting to sound patronising, I don't think any would. Although I'd take that young lad Oxford off you!

4. Describe West Ham in three words. City of Old.

5. What is your favourite memory of past City V West Ham games? Hard to trump the 6-0 semi final first leg!

6. What do you think of West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium? Very important to the future of the club. It could be the difference between a Sheik buying you or not!

7. Where do you think West Ham will finish this year? Can't see you making top 6/7 unfortunately. You're great against the big teams, but very inconsistent with everyone else, I think you'll get to around 8/9th (which surely would be deemed a success?)

8. Can you recommend a decent away pub for visiting fans? The Waldorf just off Piccadilly station is a great pub, reasonably friendly. Other then that, just head into the Northern Quarters. I don't know why you want to know though, it should be us asking you! (For any City fans going, there's a great pub called The Central off Barking Road that's brilliant for atmosphere before the game).

1. What is your prediction for Saturday?

Will be a close fought game but if we carry how we played into this game I can't see you living with us...saying that I think it will tight

1-2 to City

2. Which West Ham players are you concerned about?

Payet and Sakho...both dangerous...Wouldn't fancy us defending corners against Carroll either, but fitness obviously a problem

3. Which West Ham players, if any, would make it into your line up?

Payet may squeeze in

4. Describe West Ham in three words.

Favourite London Club

5. What is your favourite memory of past City V West Ham games?

Not a memory of a City - West Ham game but when Ian Bishop got transferred to you lot back in the day I was that gutted I travelled down to Upton Park to watch him on his debut...got talking to a Hammer on the train down and he took me under his wing...ended up getting messy with a load of Hammers and had a guided tour of the east end...was a top day and you lot were brilliant...will take those memories to the grave

6. What do you think of West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium?

I think it could work...you deserve some success and maybe this will push you to the next level

7. Where do you think West Ham will finish this year?

I'd like to think you'll be pushing for a Europa berth but if you finish in the top 10 that will be ok until you push on with the ground move and hopefully some more investment

8. Can you recommend a decent away pub for visiting fans?

Yeah the Marble Arch, away fans are always welcome...good choice of cask beers/ales and top food

http://www.marblebeers.com/marble-arch/

1) Prediction for Saturday?
Hope for 2-1 City; in reality will probably be a draw.

2) Which West Ham players are you concerned about?
All of them tbh! Payet and Valencia in particular.

3) Which West Ham players, if any, would make it in to Citys line-up?
Payet, possibly Cresswell if he was on form and am sure Valencia would get games too. They would all certainly add to our squad.

4) Describe West Ham in three words?
Londons premier club.

5) Favourite memory of City v West Ham games?
May 2014 when we clinched the Prem Lge at home. Ive been going since 1977 and we haven't exactly piled up the trophies in that time so any game where they gave us a Cup at the end of it stands out.

6) What do I think of West Hams move to the Olympic Stadium?
I think West Ham as a club are ready to grow and I hope it works out for them. Am sure with decent pricing it will be full most weeks as well - good luck. Will be shame to lose Upton Park and its traditions though. Also not sure about some of the daft statements Karren Brady has made but the West Ham fans deserve some success as my experience of them is that they are loyal and proper supporters.

7) Where do I think West Ham will finish this year?
7th with the possibility of 6th if Payet stays fit. I rate Bilic as a manager.

8) Decent pub for away fans? Many in centre of town - Northern quarter is decent and prob give a shout as others have to The Marble Arch - great choice of decent real ales and food, and away fans welcome.
