Villa park atmosphere

Last season's progs say we took 2,932 there for the first away match of the season which traditionally sells out so 3k looks like the max. allocation.

The club may not have taken up the full 3k this time with it being a night match and on TV.

100 got sent back to Villa so they obviously sold a few at the gate

Anyone recommend any decent boozer in Birmingham city centre for an afternoon ale? I've never been out there before and my flight is in around 1.30.
I've been to that away pub next to villa park but I wouldn't mind having a nosey around the town first.
I'll be dissapointed if we down bring a decent sized crowd down!

Not sure where the op got 6000 from, you will indeed be in the upper and lower tiers of the Witton Lane stand but every big team gets that with the lesser teams just having the upper tier. Your allocation will be 2800.

As for the reception Barry will get, it will be mixed but the large majority will boo him and give him plenty of stick. There are a few who are saying they will clap him before the game because of his service, and then ignore him during the game. Then there are the ones who are saying they will ignore him altogether as they think it will hurt him more to get no reception or reaction at all.

any away pubs near villa park??
Cap n Gown is your best bet, thats the official away pub. A quid to get in and a minute's walk from the away end. All the other pubs around the ground are pretty much home fans only.

well, for all those moaning about not getting a ticket for united away, these are the games where the points are earned.
