If Villa are bigger than us then my dick's a kipper!

Of course their fans will THINK they are , but you'd expect that wouldn't you?

You wouldn't find too many people argeein' with em' in this neck of the woods though , would you?

How many would they get if they fell to league one ..... 17,000 .... at best?
I think Villa actually hold the attendance record for that division - averaged 32k in 1971/72.

Anyhow all this who's bigger bullshit is irrelevant, it's the results on the pitch that count.

Similar sized clubs to be honest. There is no definitive metric. You could argue either way across various criteria

-they've more trophies than us and a European cup
- spent longer in the top division
-Vast majority of their trophies came 100 years ago.
-We have bigger attendances. They can't use the excuse of a smaller ground as they don't fill it
- now considerably richer and more high profile than them

The fact is we occupy similar levels of stature outside the likes of Arsenal, United and Liverpool

ATM, they are but when o' neil goes, they'll go tumbling.

One swallow doesn't make a summer.

Their season fell to pieces this time around because their manager eventually got things wrong ....... and how many times have they actually beaten us in years gone by ..... even at their place?

By the beginning of the 1970s, even the Second Division seemed too much for the flagging team, and Aston Villa found itself relegated to the Third Division. The team's finances were also in disarray, as attendance rates plummeted with the team's on-field losses, at one point dropping down to just 12,000 spectators. Slumping gate receipts led the team into losses of £200,000 by 1968.

Villa for me im afraid!

They are much more successful:
Theyve won the league 7 times to our 2, won the FA Cup 7 times to our 4, league cup winners 5 times to our 2, won the European Cup and the Euro Super Cup to our Euro Cup Winners Cup! makes us look shit really!

However, we do have a much higher all time attendance than them, but thats it really, more fans and more money!

Mmm, not sure i think they are in their own little group ahead of us im afraid!
Liverpool, Rags, Arsenal are group 1 - miles ahead of anyone else!
Everton, Villa come next!
Spurs, Newcastle, Sunderland, City, Chelsea are next after them!

Villa are far far far more successful than we are! They've won 21 major trophies to our 10! Thats a no comparison level! but as we think of the money and potential we have now, we are a step ahead of them!
