Villa v Maccabi Tel Aviv - away fans banned | MTA confirm they will refuse any allocation for safety reasons (p26)

They go around chanting "Death to Arabs" and beating up locals. Only fucking idiots are outraged about this decision.
Are they going to ban supporters for nasty chants all the time?

Serbia/Albania fans?

Poland/Germany fans?

England fans chanting about the war?

Half the teams in London wouldn’t be able to go to Spurs if it was the case.

Think we would have been banned from Old Trafford with some of the songs i’ve heard

100% behind the decision if it’s regarding hooligansim.

They have CCTV at Villa park so arrest every single supporter who sings anything racist or illegal

I’m only involved in this chat as i know a family from Cheetham Hill who are Maccaba supporters and were looking forward to watching their club at Villa Park - especially the young lad.
Unfortunately they don’t sing about Arabs or beat up locals but they are not going to get that chance of a good scrap now i’m afraid

I also said "beating up the locals". They're not the first to be banned for their antics, and they won't be the last. Just the first that has every right-wing fuckwit frothing at the mouth. I wonder why.

Some of those scenes in Amsterdam were fuckin shocking what the Macabi fans were up to. As you said too their favourite chant is Death to Arabs.

Some media reporting that night was a disgrace, claiming the Maccabi fans were the victims. It took a young local lad with his phone to document what actually happened.

Bingo

I mean if you're gonna go round shouting "death to arabs", "there's no school in gaza because theres no children left", rip down flags from locals houses, attack locals and boo the minutes silence for the Valencia flood victims, dont be surprised if you have to face the consequences of your actions.

Thought we'd at least be spared the gaslighting after it kicks off this time, but it seems that was well underway last night

Our leaders, the BBC etc. really do treat us like we're fucking idiots incapable of thought

I think it’s completely unnecessary and sends the wrong message. It appears that the fear is for the safety of the away fans.

What about other Jewish sports teams or Jewish fans who are based in the uk? Should they have to fear for their safety as well.

It’s the Isreal government doing harm, not the ordinary people. The level of hatred seems to be through the roof with some people

I cannot think of any team competing in sports on an international stage that are organised based on religion. The subject of this ban are ISRAELI fans of an ISRAELI football team. It's the permanently angry who immediately made it about religion - the word Jewish does not appear anywhere in the Police or Villa statements

Old Firm fans were banned from away games the last few seasons. City and Millwall fans were banned as far back as 2000 from travelling.
Nothing to see here, move on!

PS sales of half n half scarves go through the roof outside Villa Park on the day of the game as UK born Maccabi fans go under cover on the night

All English teams were banned from European football for 5 years remember

They aren’t being banned because of that though. They’re being banned because the police can’t guarantee their safety - how can you be alright with that?

What about other Jewish fans? Other Jewish sports teams. Most of them aren’t violent hooligans are they. Intimidation and the threat of violence preventing people from attending football matches…

Calling people with perfectly reasonable opinions idiots, is pretty idiotic itself

I don’t think you can ignore it. Especially after the horrific attacks recently and all the associated hate towards Jewish people.

That’s one of the main fears police have - more attacks, more antisemitism. Being from Isreal and supporting and Israeli football club shouldn’t mean a threat of violence.

What about fans in Manchester/ cheetham hill - should they not be able to attend?

I think it may have had nothing to do with Maccabi supporters inside the stadium, but of possible demonstrations by pro Palestinian groups turning up outside the ground en masse (or even inside too) and the potential for major disorder while 30,000 plus Villa fans are converging into the area too.

One question to ask is why are Russia and their clubs banned from European games but Israel and their clubs are not?
