Kick off time 20:00 (BST).

Villarreal are currently 3rd in the league, so probably a harder game than we anticipated, although they've lost to Spurs (A) and drew to Juventus (H).

We've got some tough games coming up after this, Dortmund and Leverkusen at home, Real away. Be good to get some points on the board.

Aston Villa (A) isnt until Sunday, so I expect us to go full strength.

Think Stones will start, not sure whether at CB (hopefully) or RB.

Pep has got to make the changes in this to keep players fresh and spread the minutes. Im not sure he will though, I think after last seasons shit show he is going to want to go as strong as possible every game, even when it isnt neccesary.

They've had a good start, currently 3rd but had a 2 goal lead today and ended up drawing, with the £90m rag Antony getting a brace.

Give Haaland a much deserved rest, he can't play every single game, this is as good of a time to give him a little breather and we've got an unbelievable weapon off the bench if needs be. Rest here and a full rest in the league cup next week gives him a fairly light month and should keep him fresh.

Can't see the Viking agreeing with you. He's in a goal scoring mood and will want to play every game.
I was supposed he didn't get subbed off towards the end yesterday to be honest with you. CTID

Pep always goes full strength in every CL game (injuries aside) no matter the opposition as far as I can remember.

To the Ninjamonkey who wants Haaland rested, why on earth would Pep select Ake to start? He only played v Everton to give Stones & Gvardiol a rest. Moreover, he was our worst performer according to most media ratings.

I get what you’re saying and you never want to run players into the ground, but players scoring goals don’t get tired.

Look at Messi and CRonaldo in their best goalscoring seasons in their careers…

In Messi’s top scoring seasons he scored 47 goals in 53 games, 53 goals in 55 games, 73 goals in 60 games, 60 goals in 50 games, 58 goals in 57 games, 54 goals in 52 games and 51 goals in 50 games.
In CRonaldo’s he scored 53 goals in 54 games, 60 goals in 55 games, 55 goals in 55 games, 51 goals in 47 games, 61 goals in 54 games and 51 goals in 48 games.

Unless they were injured or suspended, they’d pretty much play most weeks.

Haaland doesn’t have to play in the EFL Cup or FA Cup when it comes round… even then I’d bet he’d want to. In the CL though, he’s on the march up the goalscoring list and he’ll want to play in every CL game (I bet it’s even in his contract).

Three of the four players above him don’t play anymore and 6th is only 8 goals in front. He could be 7th by the end of this season.

Pep will start the likes of Donna, Gvardiol, Haaland, Gonzalez, but it's not clear what options are the best in some positions. Is playing Stones at RB our best option? Who makes us full strength at RW?

Pep will rotate several players. But only Gvardiol is a sure bet.
