Pep will start the likes of Donna, Gvardiol, Haaland, Gonzalez, but it's not clear what options are the best in some positions. Is playing Stones at RB our best option? Who makes us full strength at RW?

Pep will rotate several players. But only Gvardiol is a sure bet.
I think it’s time for Cherki. He looked really good yesterday in the cameo he got. I think he only got that short cameo because he’ll be starting on Tuesday.

Cherki is the player I’ve been most excited about us signing since Gvardiol signed. Considering we’ve signed 20 players since we signed Gvardiol, that’s some shout. I’m also excited to see Foden and Cherki playing together.

Cherki predominantly played in the right attacking forward position last season at Lyon, but I think he and Foden can strike up a really good (and hard to defend against) partnership interchanging across the right and central areas as both as adaptable across different areas of the pitch.

Yes, I think that Cherki is a huge talent. To play him together with Foden and Doku, we need someone like Khusanov to cover the right side. I quite like Nunes and thought he was brilliant yesterday, but against stronger opposition we would need a proper defender like Khusanov.

If we want to play both Foden and Cherki in midfield (that's difficult against strong teams or away from home), then we'll need a defensive winger. Nunes can do the job there.

I hope Gvardiol was rested and that he is not nursing an injury problem. We will find out against Villareal.

Agreed, Cherki at RW 'OOP' will leave the right hand exposed unless you have a defender like Khusanov behind him, I would also add a double pivot of Rodri and Nico G behind him.

I am not very aware of Villareal’s stature in European football, but I think Pep’s selections v Everton gave us few clues about his starting lineup. Whatever, he is spot on when it comes to anyone not called Erling from Norway needs to get in on scoring goals.

Villareal at home usually is a good team. They have great atmosphere over there ,but our quality is much higher on the pitch ,thats for sure.

Kick off time 20:00 (BST).

Villarreal are currently 3rd in the league, so probably a harder game than we anticipated, although they've lost to Spurs (A) and drew to Juventus (H).

We've got some tough games coming up after this, Dortmund and Leverkusen at home Real away. Be good to get some points on the board.

Aston Villa (A) isnt until Sunday, so I expect us to go full strength.
They seem to be a but of a mixed bag result wise though, and much like the PL La Liga ain't all that this season.

It's a tough place to go though as it's a tight ground with the supporters right on ya.

I think we'll win, but we've gotta score first to make life easier

If I was Pep I'd rest Erling for this one. Play Foden as a false 9 and say to the players you've got 70 minutes to step up and win it without him.
Villarreal away is not an easy game. Besides Haaland got his rest after the Israel trashing
