The defence looks good why rush him back ?

Agree, let him have a bit more time, maybe give him 30mins v Swansea in the league cup, same in the league game and give him an hour v Celtic.
Possibly ready for a full 90 mins at Spuds away?
Barca away in 4 week.

Vincent gets nowhere near the first 11 at the moment.

Hopefully he can get some minutes against Swansea, it's a long journey back to the first team.

If and when Kompany is fit it will be between Stones and Otto to battle it out for the other position. I think people have forgotten how good Kompany is...for me all around he is the best centre half in world football (there are a few better in the air than him but all the other attributes to be a defender he is far better than those)

His injuries have been a problem over the last few years, but he is the perfect centre half for a Pep team if he can stay fully fit. His distribution is fantastic, his reading of the game is excellent, his ability to defend one on one is exceptional, he is quick and very strong and good in the air (gain the only part where other centre halves possibly beat him).

He is also a natural leader. Remember how better our defence was even under Pellers with Kompany playing.

Of course having Kompany fit and with Stones and Otto playing exceptionally well it gives Pep the option to rotate with little drop off in ability and allows to give rest to all 3 at some point which will only aid the performance of all 3 in the long run

Stones is the second name on the team sheet after Bravo.

I'd bet my mortgage on it.

Whilst i agree with his qualities he hasn't played a second in a pep team so we have no idea if he can do it or not or if after his injuries he can still do it well at all

i don't doubt you.

Kompany's distribution is a step up from Otto's so he could be the one to lose out even though he has clearly improved under Pep

Im sure Stones will get the odd rest as well thought to keep him grounded and fresh as well - Pep will manage him and expectations around him as he is still a very young player in an absolute pivotal position.

well yes the injuries may have an affect but there are few more professional players than Kompany.

His attributes as a centre half (his footwork, use of the ball/passing, reading of the game and ability to defend one on one are all key for Pep - he continuously mentions one on one situations and players int hem and he aint just refering to the attackers)

Kompany also gives us more protection from he aerial bombardment form the likes of stoke (any lower division teams we get in the cups and utd ;-) - I know one of them doesn't play the long ball anymore............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... so thats a bit unfair on stoke!!! ;-)

With the on the ball quality of our three CBs I could quite honestly see:

--------stones------Kompany------Otamendi
-----------Dino--------------Gundogan
----------------silva--------KDB
-----Sterling/sane-----kun------Nolito/Sterling

Would save playing full backs that come inside. I doubt 99% of teams we played would get 35% possession.

Dinho always able to drop back into a four if we were under pressure.

This is how I see us going most of the time

That sounds fairly ominous for Kompany to me...
Does it? Sounds exactly like what I'd expect from a manager when talking about a player coming back from injury. The three mentioned have all been excellent and are deserving of their places but a fit and firing Kompany is only good news. Pep knows Vincent's quality, no doubts about that.

Would be fantastic to have a fit Kompany back.

I understand why Pep is taking time to introduce him. We don't want, for all concerned, for Kompany to breakdown. We have had too much of that.

Yep. But the team will be picked on form and no one has to be rushed back. It's excellent news.
