Vincent Kompany | Bayern Munich Manager

Managed a Burnley side and brought them back up, yet that same side and the British media launched a smear campaign against him immediately the German's came knocking, something they didn't do for certified failures like Lampard, Rooney, Gerrard even Neville. Some papers and fans even went ahead to suggest it was Bellamy that was really the "mind" behind Kompany, It was as if they believed Bayern shouldn't give him this once in a life time opportunity.

Honestly if I was Kompany I wouldn't even want anything to do with any British team. It shocked me that the "conservative, nasty" German's welcomed Vinny with open arms, while the "liberal, accepting" British media and fans tried to tear him down. Makes you question everything you know or think you know.

He could have sat down and complained like Sol Campbell but he took a different route, go where you are appreciated and wanted is what I say.

I was trying to be sarcastic!

Mourinho was a good coach, and they were pals, but Txiki knew Pep and knew he not only bled blue and red, unlike Mourinho, but had done a great job with the juniors.

Fair enough. The message must have lost its sarcasm as it travelled across the pond.

Still a great decision at Barca, real sliding doors moment.
