It pains me and at the same time I relief for saying it... but I think we will be fine without Kompany now.

For the first time ever a fit Vincent Kompany doesn't get in our team. Stone said has been outstanding recently and Otamendi also really good too.
True but I think we still need to replace him. We need someone strong and experienced next to Stones and then we will have a formidable defence. Otamendi is still prone to rashness and his positional sense suspect although he's vastly improved on that this season.
Yeah but it ends with him playing for no one.
So let's assume we qualify for the knock out stages and sign VVD un Jan who gets the squad place?
He should remember who pays his wages and that twat Martinez who appears not to like City anyway plays him in a game where he could have rested him
The wages are irrelevant mate. Vinny is entitled to play for Belgium whenever he can. That said, some of Vinny's injuries have been due to him over playing for Belgium and us when coming back from injury e.g. Getting injured in injury team at Swansea when he could have been subbed. Managers and medical teams for Club and Country could
Probably have been stronger in advising Vinny.
I reckon there's more to this than meets the eye. Vinny has been on a strict regime at City and has managed to stay injury free since March up to the end of August. Can imagine Pep being really pissed off about what happened as he needs to be managed and looked after to prevent recurrence and perhaps this didn't happen when he went on international duty. There's chronic muscular problems here in terms of when he suffers a problem the recovery period takes weeks if not months. This was supposed to be innocuous at first and we're 7 weeks into this latest injury.
We're finally looking OK without him now though and that's massive for us. Be interesting to see if Tosin and Mangala get a run out on Tuesday though. Expect to see some changes for this one.
The main thing is the back four are finally stepping up without him. The reason I’ve been so adamant we need him involved is due to the fact we have often looked at sixes and sevens when he’s missing.
We carry on as we have been then it’ll be a lot easier for me to agree with the notion his time here is coming to an end.
Still early days yet as far as this season goes but so far so good.

It tells you more that he's not used it since, through our best run of results of this (and many) season.Well, he used 3-5-2 in all pre-season games and first 4 league fixtures. I think it tells you something.
