Kompany goes back to school as City skipper studies for business degreeBy Ian Ladyman

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is to combine his career in the Barclays Premier League with life as a student after signing up to do a Masters degree.
Kompany is already recognised as one of the country’s most intelligent footballers, having turned down moves to big clubs such as Manchester United in his teenage years in order to complete his university studies in Belgium.
Back to school: Kompany is set to study for a Masters degree
Now it is understood the central defender is to take his academic career to the next level after gaining a place on a Business Administration course at Manchester business school.
Sportsmail understands that Kompany recently signed up for the three-year course and is likely to begin his studies at the start of the next academic year in September. It is expected that much of the 25-year-old’s coursework will be done at home.

Shades of Paul Power and Nedum.

hope this means he will be with us for at least another 3 yrs then :-)

The UCAS deadline has been and gone. I bet he isn't asked for AAB like Manchester say I need to get.

He's well past that stage, my friend.

It's a Masters degree.

I would have hoped that you'd know the difference if you are thinking of going to Uni. ;o)

'wasn't' ;]

Good idea to have something to fall back on when the football career comes to and end and he only has several millions in the bank :-)

Great to see he's thinking ahead and isn't planning on being a muppet on a couch/settee/sofa telling us how it could/should have been done after the game.

Stupid move IMO

There are no real jobs for academics anymore, his student loan will be a noose around his neck for years.

City and guilds in plumbing VK if you are reading this

I doubt its a case of him thinking ahead, i reckon he enjoys it and just wants another challenge, or he would just been playing xbox all day.

How this man is serving a 4 game ban is beyond me
