Vinnie Kompany

Definitely agree. He has really come into his own under Mancini.

A shame that Lescott is out now though. Hopefully he will be back swiftly!

he had Zamora is his back pocket from the first whistle, stuck tight all game, didn't give anything away, did what booby manc ordered, spot on.

At centreback he's magic,
In midfield he's fantastic
Up front he'd score a hat-trick
It's Vincent Kompany!

I like it. Looking forward to Wednesday. Its been that long since the last home game I might need my map.

he's got raw defensive ability and tonnes of class on the ball. the only question mark was over his concentration, but he looks to be moving forward at a pace... some superb clearances today, he was very courageous, switched on and determined at the end. no coincidence that all the other centre halves play better alongside him.

really the potential is frightening. I'd have him over almost any centre-back I can think of. carragher, wio and terry are past it. this boy is coming into his own now, by the time he's a grizzled 27 year old, who's to say how tough an opponent he will be.

love it, because from day one.... the chemistry was good. in every respect he just felt like someone you wanted around.

to be fair he was a classy player under Hughes, as well.

hahahaha i like it pal. good one

Turning into an absolute legend. Forget midfield, he's a centre half, and potentially world class.

I still have reservations about the strange angles the ball comes off his slightly misshapen swede, but he should be in the heart of our defence for many years to come.

Others will covet him, but he won't need to leave to 'win things' now like any other genuinely great players we have had over the last thirty years have had to do!

What a player this guy is!!

oh and I think this should be his:
