Let's not get carried away here. Vinny has got through a few games injury free at the end of the season to go out on a high. We all know he's only one sneeze away from being injured for months. He could indeed stay and pick up another half dozen trophies but Vinny and the club have obviously come to an amicable decision calling time on his career here. In the cold light of day without blue tinted specs on, the correct decision has been made.

He is irreplaceable as a player, captain and man. Gutting news, but probably the right time for him. He'll be back. Thank you Vinnie.
 
What a way to go. The way he came back to lead the team to glory, including providing a match winning goal of the season, has been a joy to behold and another demonstration of the measure of the man who has arguably been the finest representative of this club.

I remember his debut, in midfield, when me made him MotM and recall Didi Hamann telling Our Kid after the game that he thought Vinnie was a bit raw and had a lot to learn; well, learn he did. Watching Vinnie grow over these past ten years has been a pleasure.

Hopefully he will return to City in some capacity one day but wish him well whatever.

Genuinely gutted about this but clearly he is a man with ambition and he must have talked about it with his family and decided he wants to raise his kids somewhere else. Maybe America or somewhere. He leaves this club as not only a legend here but a legend of the game. And what a fitting way to sign off than to lift the FA cup.
 
The script couldn’t be written anymore perfect, with that goal against Leicester and yesterday’s FA Cup to secure the treble the big man is going out at the very very top.

Thank you Vinny from the bottom of our hearts.

We’re not losing Vinny, he’ll always be Manc and he’ll always be blue. He might not play anymore but that’s just football, what he has brought to this club and will continue to bring to this club and the city of Manchester is far more special. I don’t think he or Zab will ever fully realise how much they’re loved by us, it’s impossible because they’re like extended family, that love goes way beyond kicking a ball.
 
Out on a high. Lifted three trophies in one season that has never been done in English football history. He'll be missed.

Anyone crying needs to get a grip.

they say there is no room for sentiment in football and it can be brutal ??? but vinny is going when he is at the top and its the right way and his way, who ever vinny goes to next they will get a 100% professional and true leader, maybe not at his best but a 50% fit vinny is better than most and somebody is getting a bargain

we tag legends to easy today and city have had so many ?? but i will say vinny is the best bar none and is the club leading captain by a country mile, and a naming of a stand is right for Vincent Kompany
