Vinny says thank you!

When he walked on to the pitch it was brilliant but as he 'strutted' around with that 'arrogant' swagger that only Vincent Kompany has I just said to the person sitting next to me; 'he's back the Captain is in charge' and boy did he show them, he talked to the players, he encouraged them, he ran and he played. He's back, the legend is back. That was what was missing.

Did anyone hear Blue Tuesday on Radio Manchester last night? The guy from the Rainband (?) was talking about De Jong and how when the rags offered for him, although he never really considered it, he rang VK who said 'you could have all the money in the world and never be a legend but you'll always be a legend at Man City'!!

What a guy. No wonder he makes good captain material. A genuinely nice guy with the strength and determination of a god.

And the calf of a baby giraffe, if the injuries are anything to go by....

Right, tin hat on.

First of all, let it be said that I LOVE Vincent Kompany. Love, love, love him. I would go as far as to say if I was ever to have another child, I would consider calling him OR HER Vincent. We have bloody missed him this season, it was fantastic to see him back on Sunday and I am praying he remains fit for the rest of the season as it will undoubtedly have a significant impact on our quest for silverware.

Now for the controversial bit. Why is everyone fawning over a professional footballer working hard to get back to full fitness? In the luxury of Italy/LA I might add. Surely this should be standard practice?

Yes I heard this Sheila, after having a mild panic attack about the mere thought of NDJ in a Man Ure kit, I had a massive grin on my face......great story

I think its the first time that a player has recorded what he is doing to get back to fitness. Where he does it doesnt matter its just allowing us a glimpse of the work and the lengths that the club goes to to get a player back to fitness which is interesting IMHO

I don't think anyone is 'fawning'. It's more an appreciation of getting an insight into his road to recovery. As fans, we rarely see this side of a players career, we just see them injured, maybe a few appearances on Tunnel Cam, and that's it until they return. I personally find it interesting.

Excellent, just a shame a lot of our other stars don't have the same application and determination.
Were far too reliant on him.

God on him for the praise, and great to see an insight into the recovery processes. Before that I only had Paul Lake's book and it sounds agonising being out of the game you love, for any length of time beyond a few weeks.
