I’d be happy with that. We can get much better on the continent for £60m. We certainly don’t need him in this window.Look on the Liverpool board ,they think they have got him.

You do have a point re. him walking into the Liverpool starting XI. Let's face it, when you're competing with Lovren and Klavan for a starting spot, it shouldn't be too difficult to push past them. Your other point, about him having the stomach to fight for a spot, is obviously harder to predict. I would like to think that, if he did come to us, he would rise to that challenge. Though it's hard to look beyond Stones and Otamendi (yes, Otamendi) as our first choice CB pairing.Am I hell just think he will. Given the stuff in the summer I don’t think he has the stomach to come and fight here when he will walk into Liverpool’s side
Starting 11 or not, if he came here he’d know he’d get loads of games at the best team in the country. To join a team 20 points behind us with a much weaker squad is mind boggling.
