Jose Font has handed in a transfer request.Not sure what this would do to any deal we may or may not be planning for Van Dijk.

Maybe he's heard that Southampton are willing to let VVD go and he's not happy at the way things are going ?

I thought he was superb last night,against the Dippers,he completely bossed their front line and was continually communicating with,and marshalling, his defence brilliantly.

Yep,he is a fantastic athlete and defender - he has the mobility and speed to deal with the likes of Sturridge and the size and physicality to deal with the big bastards,he seems to be improving too.

The club,as far as i'm aware,haven't made anything official,however,there has been plenty of speculation/links in the press,hence this thread......also, given his attributes,and relative attainability,i'd be gobsmacked if he wasnt on a shortlist of candidates for our problem position.

I hope there is something in the rumours because he looks tailor made for us,IMO.

Maybe we are waiting to see whether we can get Kompany playing before we go ahead and buy another defender.
