This is a possible PL game changer deal.

Not only because it would pair VVD alongside kompany(and Stones in the future), but it will show the other PL clubs our pulling power and status.

For VVD to pick us over Chelsea, the PL champions, and Liverpool, and their #istory, the guff that goes with that, and their self-rightous fans, would be a massive statement of intent, not only for City, but to the other PL clubs.

This deal and the Sanchez deal would send shockwaves through the boardrooms of the other PL clubs.
Absolutely spot on in my opinion. I only want VVD if Otamendi or Kolarov leave but Sanchez is a no-brainer. If we get the both of them, that's already an immense summer.

I think Otamendi will leave is VvD signs. Which is unfortunate but understandable, especially if we can get a decent fee from Madrid. I think we'll keep Kolarov until next year and then sign Lucas Hernandez to replace him.

I was amused over the weekend by some knob on the radio saying that he would choose Liverpool because he's interested in Klopp's vision for the club, or us because of huge wages.

Understandable as scousers have no comprehension that a very good player would want to play for us instead of them for anything other than money.
Ask James Milner!
LOL

Could he be Southampton's cover for Dijk leaving?

Southampton are willing to accept Sporting's €14m price tag(+20% sell-on fee & "anti-rival clause") for centre-back Rúben Semedo. [A Bola]

Southampton will make an official offer for R.Semedo later this week in order to start talks with the Portuguese U21 international. [A Bola]

What a player Baresi was.... that's took me back. The Milan team of the late 80s/early 90s was epic.
Always rated Maldini jnr the higher of the two as imo he was simultaneously the best right back, left back and centre half in the world and kept it up into his forties, but both were absolutely amazing.

Prime Baresi, Nesta, Cannavaro or Maldini. We're working on the time machine now.

Great Scot, Marty!

As a stand alone centre half, Baresi for me was the greatest, however, maldini could literally slip in seamlessly across the whole back line and still be world class, he also played in goal one year when Dida was sent off as well....
