If we need the money for other positions and we have an oil tanker of cash available I'd like to think it's a monumentally massive world record bid pending
Fool
Stones has already performed at a much higher level that VVD, simply because it's asked of him at City.
I still feel City felt they could take it or leave it with VVD, because we need the money in other positions.
Completely agree, also think the keeper being able to save a shot or two would of helped the defence too.
Not having that. Since when has Stones commanded our back line like VVD did last season in a worse team?
Van Dijk would be a good signing, but for some people to still hold onto Bonucci in hope, guys... just let it go. He is staying at juve 100%.
If we don't get Van Dijk, there are other alternatives... Laporte, Davinson Sanchez, Manolas, Rudiger, Jonathan Tah, I am sure pep will have plenty to ponder.
A fool because I personally think Chiellini is better than Bonucci?
...if and only if we get the deals done. Both potential deals seem to have their areas of difficulty though.Yeah agree and Pep has a record of rather going for midfielders wingers or strikers before a defender. So Sanchez or pushing the boat out in trying to get Mbappe will do me.
We don't know he is staying at Juve 100%

Do we really need a CB, though?
We looked great in those final two months with Vinny back and even Otamendi looked a class act.
Imagine what Vinny will do for Stones, the best exponent of what Pep is trying to achieve.
Irrespective of Vinny's fitness issues, our failings last season were down to not scoring enough and taking our chances, not him missing.
It was the nature of how we conceded, not the amount (certainly in relation to Spurs) which coloured the narrative of last season.
My opinion is that two world class full backs and the extra firepower will take less onus on us having to have Baresi and Maldini at the back.
Save the £60m, keep Mangala or play Tosin if we have to, and put it down towards securing Mbappe and Sanchez.
(sorry if this tweet was already posted) Guy from the Anfield Wrap saying he thinks City's interest wasn't that big... Agent playing games with the media to get Liverpool moving on a deal...
This makes sense, for the past couple of weeks the sources who are closest to the club always said after Bernardo it would be Ederson, then Mendy, then Walker. Although we've had some interest in VVD going back to January window, I think VK coming good for last two months has made a top CB signing this summer not a priority. VVD going to City story came from nowhere really (clearly the work of his Agent or maybe even Southampton knowing he wants Liverpool)...
