That doesn't mean we can't improve at the back. Centre back is a must for me, seems this place is split on weather we need a new centre back or not.
 
van Dijk is a very good defender and it is good to have cover at centre back but at £60m and on £200,000 p/w there are other problems that need sorting out first.

No way, we need a top quality centre back. VVD would have been ideal
 
VVD would have been my choice for incoming CB. He is proven in the premier league, can play the ball out of defence and has got pace. Ottamendi despite having a good end to season massively struggles against pace and Stones is bullied off the ball too easily imo eg against Falcao at home against Monaco. Let's hope Pep has his eyes on someone else as CB purchase
 
Decent player VVD but 60m price tag is beyond a joke. Personally I think CB is further down the list of priorities RB, LB and GK were all number 1 priority this summer and it sounds like we're close to filling those positions. Kompany, Stones & Otamendi are all decent CBs who with decent fullbacks can all improve without the worry of having to cover for them. Kolarov is also a decent short term option for CB as proven on few occasions last season.

Forgot to add we had the hologram in net as well !

New keeper and full backs would see us nearer to 30 goals conceded next season

If we add 20 goals to the team we will win the league
 
If any of the reports are true looks like Liverpool have done what we do deal with the player get him in board offer him a contract what he agrees with then make Southampton an offer.

The plot thickens. Maybe Liverpool where the only club interested. City would pay up if van dyke wanted to come. Got no doubt about that.

Being greedy I would like another defensive mid of proven class but they are few and far between

We can bring in Lucas Hernandez next year to replace kolarov , which would sort out the centre back position

Yep be a quality window with those fullbacks and goalie was a priority
 
He clearly wants to stay a saints player hence electing to move to their first team base in Merseyside with Adam, Sadio, Nathaniel and dejan. He will hope to enjoy the success he has already enjoyed with the saints development squad.

I'd me more than happy with them 4 this window.
Obviously 5 with Silva.

A new DM would be nice, but dont forget VK can also play there, and as i remmember was quite good. On his return from Injury last season he played some great balls forward.
 
Hate to be THAT guy but.... I genuinely never wanted him.

Good defender but for 50m you can pretty much buy any CB in the world and there are so many better defenders.

50m is a lot of money to spend on a 4th choice defender. He's not as good as Kompany, stones and he's no better than otamendi has been in the last 3-4 months in my opinion
