Virtual Reality Tour

so what does it do ? you just stand there with some headset on? and some information comes up on screen?

A virtual pint in the Parkside after you're cajoled to drop a virtual pound in a virtual bucket for some virtual "children".
Stand in some virtual dog shit in virtual dog shit alley.
Eat a virtual burger with onions and catch virtual bochelism.
Stand under a virtually flickering bulb in the cold.
Shit your virtual pants in a virtual outdoor "toilet".
Shout "swales out" and "sack the board" in front of the virtual pink final van.
Where do I sign?

Connect a Virtual Reality Headset to a computer and connect that computer to the internet, then in theory you connect that person to the Etihad stadium and a seat in the stand.

The more time that passes the more detached the club becomes from the fans! If any other club did this we would all be taking the piss, I would anyway.
Although if it contains subliminal messages about the outcome of the #115 I could be persuaded to change my mind.

If it's a virtual experience, why do I need to go to the ground to do it?

Can I leave before it finishes, as I want to beat the virtual traffic
Someone needs to create the environment that everyone else will enjoy. In theory. I think it will happen.

AI can create the environment surely? ;)

City have been talking about this for a long time have they not? It's 100% guaranteed to happen at some point. If any club are forward thinking enough to do it first, then we're right at the front of the queue. You could have millions of people around the world watching a match in real time. Priced correctly I'd certainly consider it.

This is so obviously the way football is headed, I can't believe some people are critical of the club for getting ahead of the game. The potential is endless for anyone with a hint of imagination or vision.

It is what it is, I'm not celebrating it but it is about being one step ahead of everyone else. United was miles ahead of everyone off the pitch and then took their foot off the gas. Look at them now,

If I’m not wrong Barca have had something like this for ages?
I don’t really find anything wrong with it, it’s just an experience for the lazy tourists who aren’t arsed to walk around the ground for 2 hours. Let them be.

Wouldn't worry too much about the objectors, they'll all be dead in a few years.

That's just ostrich thinking I'm afraid, the world moves on either with or without you.

I guess it's the same discussion that was had when they first started televising football. And whilst it's led to major impact on match-going fans, there's not one of us that hasn;t benefitted significantly in being able to watch our team on our tellyboxes.

Detached from the fans for providing a VR experience as part of the stadium tour? Blimey.

Maybe we need to go back to the days where you banged on the door at Maine Rd and if you're lucky Stan Gibson will take you in to let you see the pitch.
