My problem is when i use google and search for something and then click on what im looking for it then redirects me to a pop-up called "Mostermarket" or something similar to that and it really starting to piss me right off. I have used AVG and symantec and that has deleted some trojans but this problem is still there. Any help or links would be much appreciated

thanks blues!

Sounds like spyware, aka malware. Not strictly virus.

First off, only use 1 AV Scanner. You shouldn't have two such programs running as this will impact performance and probably cause conflict between the two. I'd go for AVG over Symantec every day.

Anyways, back to the malware. Grab Windows Defender from the Microsoft Downloads section. It's a free malware detection\removal program that runs realtime and is quite good. It has other features that can help you with your issue.

If that doensn't shift it, grab these apps;

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html</a>

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofi ... e-combofix</a>

Also, if you're using Internet Explorer click on Tools, Manage Add ons , then look in there for anything that suspect

let me know if you still can't shift it.

dont use combofix unless you know whats causing it, download malwarebytes antimalware or superantispyware if these dont work post your problem on bleepingcomputer.com, they will help

....and your reason is?

Malwarebytes rates 3/10 in my book. Superanti spyware ~ you're having a laugh.

I've been using superantispyware for some time now ...... it's been brilliant for me , and it's shifted loads of stuff that AVG hasn't detected.

sorry mate, gotta disagree strongly. Cleared 2 PCs today, one of which had SuperAnti Spyware intalled which was as useful as a chocolate fireguard. The infections were variants of WinAnti Virus 2009, PC Anti Virus etc etc. This is actually scareware and is rampant at the minute. I've got another five waiting for me tomorrow and pretty much i am seeing that each day lately.

it's almost impossible to stop this type of infection, with delivery being down by drive by downloads. Essentially this means just by visiting a web page with infected code your at risk. Infected code can get into a web page through a number of methods, and in some instances it has been known for adverts placed on legit websites , say sky.com for example to contain malicious code. By the time the website are made aware of this thousands of pcs become compromised. AVG has a link scanner which checks the site against a database and advises users before visiting the site. This is a proactive method but not foolproof.

The guys behind this are orchestrated, slick and professional with earnings upto £10K per day! They can either employ the best graduates, or in the ex Soviet regions or Asia where predominantly these organisations originate they can physically threaten geeks to code this type of stuff. It's almost impossible for the authorities to trace these people for a number of technical reasons. On a base level, the cops in the UK neither have the resources nor the inclination to do anything about it.
