Virus: help please!

Ive got a virus on my comp, not really sure how i got it. think it may be from downloading things from isohunt.
can anyone reccomend how to get rid?

im quite worried :(
 
seriously mate i didnt think its worth it. i'll pm you sites where you dont have to download.

Download Adaware & CC cleaner...that should help
 
dont know what virus. just loads n load of pop ups on and off internet. comp freezing every so often and stuff like my sidebar with the clock in have gone. very slow too.

and i was downloading photoshop yesterday so could be that.

Odd that your security software didn't nab the virus in it's tracks. Most of the main ones (Norton, McAfee and Kaspersky) are pretty good. Did you have all the updates, er, updated?

ive havnt got any proper virus software. had a free trial of norton with laptop, thats it :(

All you had to do was get along to your local PC World, Curry's or wherever and buy the software. No need to buy into some outside promotion. Or you could have gone to any of the software supplier's websites and done it online. Unfortunately, the bottom line is that if you want the full virus protection that these companies provide, you'll have to shell out! I wouldn't like to trust those free ones that have been mentioned elsewhere on here for anything else than a back-up to your main anti-virus programme.
