In the early days of the net you could maybe get away with no anti virus but today there is no chance of going 1 hour unprotected.
I always advise folks to get AVG - It's free and updates daily . I've never had any problems with it

I've got it and its free, Mr. Banks.

sorry joycee, what i meant was i have the free version and was thinking of upgrading to the pay version just wondered if anyone had done that and was it worth it?

if anyone banks online with barclays they get kaspersky free for 3 computers for a year.just thought id share that with you.

on the anti virus note-each to their own but i prefer eset nod32.runs in the background constantly updates and takes barely any pc use up whilst running.

another i can recommend is avast-it is a free anti virus thats available to download most places.its a deep cleaner shall we say.

Agree with Betty - NOD32 is fantastic. I've been running it for 4 year now and it is worth every penny. Costs about £27 to get initially and about £16 to renew each year. Since I got it I have never had any problems with viruses, spyware etc.

By the way - Natwest also offer a website monitoring service for on-line cutomers.
