And 6 points in 20 games would back them up. Let's be honest, if our recruitment team were looking at the central defender from a club that got relegated after barely scraping double figures, everyone would think they've gone crazy. But make it one of our ex-academy players and everyone acts like we've let the next John Terry slip through our fingers.
Word.

Not sure I’d take plettiburgs word on anything that isn’t concerned with Bundesliga, he’s barely got anything right outside the league.

If we really believe he’s first team quality we’ll put the money down. Standard negotiations will carry on like this.

isnt this guy one for the future surely at 18 so why would we try and rush it?

a) need bodies now, with so many injured
b) gives him time to get to know his teammates, the club, pep, the city at a time when we are having an off season, so that come next season no time is wastsd and he fits in better
c) the sooner he joins the more likely he is to count as club trained before he turns 21
d) removes the risk of him being injured while playing for someone else.

I would add the fact that it prevents the likes of Brighton, Madrid, or Arsenal from getting him before us.

not sure C will count, would need to have moved on his 18th birthday. He's 19 in 3 days

I took it as him meaning sign him now but leave him there. But sure, yeah that too.

I really like the direction we are going in. Two top quality young defenders and one of the best attacking players in Europe this season. Age profile reduced. Think the 2 defenders replace Walker and Stones.

If we are signing the Uzbeki lad, think it makes sense to leave reis out on loan for a bit.
He's only young and moving to what is basically the other side of the world at such a young age wouldn't be easy.
Can't see him getting much game time if he comes over now (not that I've seen him to know how good he is).
