That is a big statement considering we haven't made it through the first stages in our initial attempts.

But a truly world class centre half. Alongside Thiago Silva (who is also fucking mint!) the two best CHs in the world.

My present day fav footballer not only for his skills but his presence and personality. Silva / Aguero are perhaps our best players but Vinny by far our most important one.

It is a bold statement but one I stand by. I don't think we are favourites but I think we will be up there with the best if we get that centre half. Him and Pepe would be mouthwatering! It's as though Vinny hasn't even stopped playing since last season. He's come back and carried on his excellent form

I have to disagree, he wasn't in 2011-2012 form but was still excellent for us last season, especially when you take into account he had a disrupted season because of injury

Remember seeing something when we signed him that Capello thought he was a great centre half - we then persisted on playing him Centre Mid - the folly of that now is crazy.
What i liked last night was Hargeaves remarking twice in 5 minutes how easy he made it look - there was real respect in the way he said it - one of which he cut a cross Darke talking about something else just after vinny had dropped the shoulder and sent the Bayern player chasing shadows.
When fit and in form there is no one better.
