Votes for 16 year olds

I don't have a problem with 16 year olds having the vote.

They have been given that opportunity in Wales and Scotland for a while now, and it hasn't caused any problems. It has been noticed that many of them pose more erudite questions than their elders in pre election debates.

It kind of pissed me off in the early 70's when I was paying tax and national insurance when I was their age without any say in my future, so yeah, I'm all for it.

So at 16 you are considered nature enough to vote but not to hold a role within the Labour Party. Seems Labours hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Most 16 to 18 year olds won’t bother as they’ll be too busy being out with their mates. The ones that will, will probably be those who have a fascination with politics, or believe they do. And these ones will soon get bored.

16 year olds be allowed to vote and have sex but they can't drink and aren't legally considered an adult until they are 18?

I'm not opposed to it, btw, but it's all a bit of a mess, no?
