you think any of our starting 11 will play?

it would be the dumbest thing of Mancini's tenure if any of our top 16-17 players played in this fixture.

ROBERTO MANCINI is facing a revolt that could derail Manchester City’s title chances.

The Blues boss is on a collision course with senior players and staff over a charity match in Italy next week.

The Premier League leaders have agreed to field a side against a combined Sampdoria and Genoa XI to raise cash for victims of the flash floods that struck northern Italy in November.

Roberto Mancini was expected to take a side made-up of fringe stars and youth team players for the game on Wednesday.

But he has stunned his squad and coaching staff by telling them he will pick a number of first teamers for the trip – just four days before the crunch league clash at Aston Villa.

Starsport understands Mancini’s decision has caused uproar in the dressing-room.

Mancini has spent the past few weeks complaining about his squad being pushed to the limit by injuries, suspensions and players being away on international duty.

A club source said: “The players are livid. One minute the manager is all doom-and-gloom about suspensions and injuries, but now we have to fly to Italy for a charity game.

“Some of the players are going to put their views across. But they fear their protests will fall on deaf ears because they feel Mancini does not communicate with them.

“One member of the backroom staff has already decided not to travel.”

I will be majorly disappointed if any first team players are playing in that match, all the complaining about having certain players out and decisions going wrong and who is to say anybody does'nt get seriously injured! 4 days before Villa as well.

Why not do this in the Summer after Euro 2012!

I actually hope a few of the first teamers at least play a part in this - even if it's a token gesture of a couple of them turning up for kick off then being subbed.

We were bought don't forget, to raise the profile of Abu Dhabi around the world, to improve the public image of the place - we appreciate the money and time invested in the club, we've all benefitted from it, taking part in things like this, despite the timing, is the consequence of that.

You remember Paul Lake's testimonial - United's big players at the time all played 20 minutes, despite having a game the day before and then arriving late at an England get together because of it. I'm as ABU as they come, but that gesture meant a hell of a lot, read Paul's book to see how much it meant to him. Gestures like that don't get forgotten and I hope we're big enough to make the effort.

if anyone on here is going to this game, would they mind getting me a programme from it, obviously i will pay for it and postage to me
pm me and let me know
thanks in advance

This simply has to be rubbish. No way would he play anyone who would figure against Villa in this game. Where is it from?
