Vuvuzelas

FIFA have announced today that any horn/vuvuzela/noise making thingy needs to be smaller than 1 meter.

Let's hope it works because the Confederations Cup was a disaster.

Now if they had a few Dizzy Gilliespies in the crowd to vary the notes up a a bit I might be able to tolerate it but I'm afraid I'll be having the mute button on all game which is a shame. Hate them with a passion.

For feck's sake. It's not OUR place to tell the hosts of the World Cup how to go about things. The vuvuzela is part and parcel of the 2010 World Cup, so if you don't like any part of the package, you can watch BBC Parliament instead. I find it horribly arrogant for us to complain about someone else's culture like this. I wouldn't be at all surprised if other nations get annoyed by the England band - but they don't suggest for one second that it should be banned. Hell, I find the England band annoying, but I don't whinge about it.

I agree and am the same, when I am reading the Guardian, drinking my fair-trade cup of hot cocoa after talking with my friends Mbuto, Mohammed, Gonzalez & Alexi, there is nothing I detest more than people on a forum, stating their opinions that they find something annoying. Even if it does sound like a wasp's nest in your TV.

ps - I bet he does whinge about it..

Are these putting a slight damper on anyone elses world cup excitment?

They are going to ruin every match.

Ban them.
It has already become the word I detest the most, sick of hearing about them and the noise they make.
