As mentioned before...my missus is a primary school teacher and the job is a fucking nightmare.Never home before 5.30/6pm and even then she is busy cutting out,laminating etc.

I've been a cop for nearly 8 years and I'm on about 32k.

They changed the pension a couple of years ago. You now only pay 9% (as opposed 11%) but have to work 35 years (instead of 30) to qualify for the full pension. You have to take that into account as the pension amount isn't negotiable. You either pay the full amount or you don't pay into it at all.

Or you can slip on a donut in the canteen and get pensioned off with a 'bad back'

Just showed the above to my wife who's Primary teacher and both think it's true. After 11 years in the job she's looking to get out.

Cheers to everyone whose helped. Anyone know what the average wage in the UK is? Been looking around and it looks like it's around 23/24K, anyone know if this is around about correct?

Try for the Fire Service, its a doddle, 16 weeks training on full pay, great shift system, loads of perks and it boosts your pulling power.

Hardest bit is getting in ,when l did selection for Cheshire, there were over 6,000 applications for 8 jobs...

edited to add, l eventually left because l got bored, it was too easy and l was surrounded by slackers, who were more concerned about their window cleaning round etc..
