it actually could with recent DNA findings

Whoa!!!

Run that by me again old boy .... how fookin great would that be??!

Seriously - tell us more, this is great.

its all a bit technical really, but there are sites where fossils are preserved in which soft tissue i.e. non skeletal material like ligaments/blood vessels are preserved.

recent digs and scans on existing whole skeleton fossils have uncovered material like this which people believe can have the whole DNA of the dino embedded within it.

it's all at a very early stage but a guy in my uni (phil manning if anyone has seen him on tv) is currently sequencing the DNA to see if there are any close matches to today's species. as it stands, we are no nearer to a jurassic park style scenario but there has been evolution in the fact it could be possible.

the sequencing of wooly mammoth dna has led to people thinking it may be possible to embed their dna within the early stages of specially modified elephant conception and research is ongoing with phil thinking it may be feasible we could see mammoths returning within 30 years.

the research is all conceptual at the moment but if the people i have spoken to within my department are t be believed then jurassic park COULD happen

Saw it at the MEN
Thought it was alright 7or 8/ 10
son loved it , I was gutted having paid £40 each to learn they were selling them for £12 day before I went , just had to phone up and say magic word " NHS "
No way did I feel it was worth £40 each , £10 programme as well

Yeh, Yeh. Let's cut to the question on everyones mind, are we any nearer to seeing Dodos?

Now being serious, how cool would it be to see a mammoth?

i've only been told the palaeontological impacts but i guess it could work for more recently extinct species if soft tissues are preserved
