His contract is up in the summer. Since its widely regarded that we need another central defender is he worth a 1 year deal? He's getting on quite a bit now (he's 33 I believe) but he has vast experience and hes been very good for Inter this season. Could step in for Kompany both as a defender and a leader which we seem to lack at the back when Vinnie is out.

Too old and too slow.

However, along with Carvalho - "The Prince of the Darkness"; as my Brother calls him, the last of the great Defenders.

Seriously, I love him to bits but if Kompany is the best in Europe standards are at an all time low.

i'd definately have him. Him and Lucio are the last of the "Proper Defenders".

they know every trick in the book and are winners.

No blue tinted specs here, Kompany is bloody good.

The game here more or less see's the ball come at defenders at pace on the break (espesh us).
Unless you have only ever played footy on fifa and i'm not suggesting you have. Then you need to bring this this into your reasoning because it is a major factor.

The Prem is like a torture chamber for defenders so doing well here counts imo.
I do not subscribe to the "Prem is shit for defence" lark.

It is no worse or better than most other top leagues player wise.
I think many teams tactics screw themselves or/and the general ethos around defensive duties in the prem is simply different.

Last i checked the prem has been stuffing the final rounds of the cl with English clubs in the last 10 or so years. You don't do that by being shite in defence.

tl;dr Kompany is fucking class :)
