Warsaw

Well Warsaw is very nice so far. You have to wonder why so many Poles migrated when this city is clean, polite and easy to get around.

Having been all over Eastern Europe, I’d recommend breaks here. The pound takes you a long way.

If you want to take in a game, legia play at home in the Polish cup tomorrow. 4pm ko your time.

Sold out a long time ago, but you might get one from the touts before the game. The tickets look a bit weird as there are no names of the teams printed on them.

There’s tickets available online. If just go to stadium, bring passport, and you’ll probably get a ticket. Really can’t see it being a sell out. Rakow have fuck all fans.

Just googled Rakow as never heard of them. They’re about to win the league and they’ve won the last 2 Polish cups
yup. And they have a piss poor support. Rich mans play thing, happens a lot in Poland. Remember Groclin? No more

Flew to Krakow on a tiny twin prop old tub of a plane. No more than 20 seats. The in flight meal was a carton of orange juice and a 3 pack of jaffa cakes lobbed to us by the one cabin crew member.

I’ll have to think about it. I’ve been to many matches in Eastern Europe but to see Wales v Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia etc. I imagine club football is very tribal here. I’d be happy enough in a bar but, as I said, I’ll think about it.

Like an idiot, I walked 45 minutes to the Legia Stadium this morning and the shop was closed. They do a bank holiday of sorts too.

youll be ok, just avoid Zyleta, just don’t wear any team colours. I’ve been there as a “neutral” and if they found out who I support if be at risk. Serbia, been there, their A&E isn’t fun.

We were locked in at Red Star Belgrade’s ground for two hours afterwards. Inside, their ultras tried to charge us despite being behind perspex and riot police.

No chance of a drink afterwards either as they shut all the bars. Bussed in and out.

You got lucky. Our pub got attacked pre match and yours truly stopped a Steiner with my face. Turns out Serbs don’t like Poles.

I found Serbians very eccentric but welcoming. The Welsh behave when they go abroad for the football. We can be a divided nation in terms of area, language and club rivalry but it’s all put to one side. Someone will intervene if people are playing up.

Having come out of a Mancunian lady’s body, I shouldn’t laugh when natives say “We hate the English” but I tend to. My best mate is Newton Heath through and through too.
