Was lucky enough to be in the tunnel.....

The one thing i noticed when i met Vinny is his impeccable grasp of the english language (probably better than most english people) and the aura of calm he exudes seems to rub off on everyone around him. I just <3 him.

I remember calling him a legend and he just calmly accepted the compliment with a smile and a "thankyou very much"

Kompany for captain next season

Has to be. No need to balm Carlos' ego (will he even be here?) Kompany is class.
I do worry though if it could affect hius performances like I think its had an adverse effect on Tevez this season.

To take the armband away from him now would make absolutely no sense what so ever.
Maybe it's not only due to him being the captain, but as of the last couple of weeks the squad looks more united then than they ever had before.

He needs to wear it permanently.

It won't affect his performance, he's more than capable of carrying it without it doing so

Never saw much of Franz Beckenbauer play apart from World Cup highlights - bit before my time.. but Vinnie puts me in mind of him.. timing, poise, composure on the ball, general aura of leadership and calm..

Vaguely remember reading some quote about Beckenbauer being so composed it looked like he could bring the ball out of defence while reading the Sunday paper... can see Vinnie becoming our most important player / leader

Carlos is more likely to be in the sunday papers mate

There were 2 kids singing, "he's Belgian, he's brilliant, he's Vincent Kompany" pretty much every 2 minutes during the game, even when Lescott made a good tackle. Think they had been on the alcopops, they were told to shut up cos the song was shite and not gonna catch on but fair play to them, they wrote it so they were gonna sing it. Altogether now...he's Belgian he's brilliant he's Vincent Kompany!!
