Was this a surprise?

Is it really a surprise that we lost to Leicester today?

Going off of the basis of results this season in the PL, against the top 10 (prior to 3pm kickoffs) we have:
W3 D3 L6

With 2 of those wins coming against newly promoted Watford & the other against Southampton at home. We've yet to beat a single team in the top 6 of the table.

We've been pretty awful against any decent opposition this season in reality & the Leicester match just followed a familiar trend. Whilst I still held hope we'd pick up a win today I can't say I was surprised that we didn't - we've shown very little to suggest we're better than the teams around us in the table.

Our final 13 PL matches are against 6 top ten teams & 7 bottom half teams.

I expected it. Their high tempo was always going to get to us, and I didn't for one second think we'd keep a clean sheet. Oh, and we've been 'off' for a while now.

It wasn't a surprise and that's the worrying thing. We're just not up to it and most of our squad aren't nearly as good as what they're cracked up to be. Hart and Aguero aside - and I'll leave Silva out of this comment as such is the level of his dip in form that I believe he's GOT to be playing through an injury - we have a shocking lack of quality in that side. It's all very average.

For non city fans it was but for those that watch us week in week out realise we're a shit over rated team and this was something that was really quite possible. Mancini created this team and Pellegrini destroyed it.

Definitely agree with the first part. Live with fans of other teams & they keep telling me we'll definitely win etc., people who don't watch us week in week out really don't realise how poor we've been all year until I tell them a few stats like this one.

Plus Leicester have now won all 3 of their games away at top 6 clubs . They are perfectly suited to playing on the break and, as usual, we had no plan about how to combat them. That is one thing that will change dramatically next season.
