Was yesterday our worst defeat of the post takeover era?

Personally I would say it was.

There is nothing to this team, not one ounce of bottle or fight. Yesterday was a crucial game. It was a chance to put pressure on Leicester and stake our claim for the title. Instead we simply surrendered. Leicester were simply the better side in every single department. Losing in that magnitude at home to any title rival is disgraceful IMO. It wasn't a tactical master class from Leicester it was simply the fact that our manager and players were arrogant and underestimated them.

It's a recurring theme that we seem to win the league by capitalising on our challengers mistakes rather than forcing the issue ourselves. We seem unable to be the standout team in a season and reach our potential.

When Chelsea won the league last season or United a few seasons back, they did so because they capitalised on our poor form and were consistent. Yet when we go into a season and the likes of Chelsea and United are inconsistent and poor, we just lower our game.

This season of all seasons should have been the one to send out a message to our rivals. We brought in top class quality to a squad that finished 2nd and have seen some of the other big sides struggle badly. Yet this season we have struggled to muster back to back wins.

It's the least confident I've felt in the post TO era for sure.

I just can't see where our next win is coming from.
With so many players injured there's no place for rotation either.

Could be worse, could be Man Utd seeing their dreams of CL football slide away

I thought we were worse against Stoke, Liverpool and 2nd half v Spurs.
I agree - I don't think our form has not been good albeit we have been winning. e.g. really lucky at Watford and Sunderland. Players look leggy having played so many games. We will have to make sure players get rest and light training this week in preparation for spuds. Hope we get some wounded soldiers back. We can't expect the same players to keep playing. We need Vinnie back in a big way and hope that YaYa gets back in the mood. We also need Silva to get his form back. He has not looked the same player since his injury.

Spot on..

Can I save my vote until after the Spurs game?

It's a thankfully rare occasion when everything about us is wrong. Yesterday was like that.

As we were @ Wembley vs Wigan and away at Saints.

Wigan came with the news about Mancini. Saints we'll never know but something was seriously wrong that night.

Saturday was the 1st game after the Pep confirmation.

Perhaps the players are change averse?

Sunderland was the 1st game after Pep confirmation ... We were shit in that too

It's up there.
Liverpool (A) in 2014 when Pellers didn't take the opposition into account hurt, but not as much as the inept 1-4 at home last November. The Wigan cup final was also pretty shit as was the 1-2 QF defeat the following year. Newcastle at home in the League cup stank as did CSKA at home in Europe.

And somebody said to me that the players would be auditioning for Pep from now on, what a fucking joke, half those players couldn't get out of the door quick enough.

Who gives a fuck about them? Let’s get our own house in order, that’s all that should matter to us.

We were poor from the kick off yesterday, totally lacking in every single department. Slow, ponderous, overran and utterly bereft of any signs of urgency. Considering the outlay we made in summer; considering who was in our starting 11 yesterday; and recognising this was an opportunity to put down a marker, it was a shocking performance.

Wigan at Wembley was worse though.

i havent seen every game, but the ones i've seen, including saturdays game, that game was the worst i've seen purely for the tactic ineptitude and certain players performance.

Maybe there have been worse that i havent seen, but i really hope not.

No, but it's the snowball effect, we've been shit for large parts of the season and making no improvement, if not getting worse.
