Was yesterday our worst defeat of the post takeover era?

I'm not talking in terms of the scoreline. I just can't remember feeling this down after a defeat for a very long time. I was hoping the Liverpool game was a wake up call as it was still early in the season. Yesterday had a season-defining feel to it and it's very difficult to have any confidence at all after the performance. I haven't felt this low since the Arsenal defeat in 2012, the difference being we don't have the manager of players needed to turn it around now. I would put it down as the low point of the post takeover era.

Now all our rivals seem to have hit form at the right time while we haven't played well for months. Even the Rags. The summer can't come quick enough hopefully with CL football.

In terms of all round performance; Yes.

Said the same thing to my brother yesterday but I expected bad performances this year under Pellegrini, lets be honest if we weren't waiting for Pep, he would have lost his job in the summer.

Things have changed though. Against less than the elite teams in the league (and I still don't consider Leicester as an elite team, although I probably should by now), I always came into the match that we are going to plaster a team, and this team today might just be that team. I don't get that sense anymore that we are going to absolutely dominate teams like we used to. I just can't seem to put my finger though on what has changed. Yesterday, indeed was very disappointing. I was expecting a 3-0 or 3-1 score line but for us not them!

For me it was, yes.

Completely abject and devoid of anything positive.

@Rammy Blue summed it up earlier elsewhere in that our play right now is mind numbing.

Yesterday neither left me angry or sad, it just left me numb.

The defeat to Liverpool in the title run in was a kick in the teeth! The Scousers singing their gonna win the league, the blatant hand ball in the box at the end getting ignored.

Worked out OK in the end

the 2-3 defeat against the scum was a bad one, the fa cup game where we were 3 down at half time, it was the first derby since the 6-1 and i thought at the time they were going to do the same to us.

CSKA was worse

Liverpool game was worse for me because I knew we would get fucking hammered when I saw the team warming up & actually wished I wasn't there.

Yesterday it took a couple of mins while I figured out Delph wasn't actually playing cm next to Fernandinho & Kolarov was in grandad mode. Prior to that, I thought we had a chance at least pre kickoff.

It's up there.

I think we are in the deepest hole since the takeover.

No spirit , no motivation , everybody waiting for some one else to do something constructive.

The reaction of the team when we conceded each time told us a lot about their character and self belief.

ie its sadly lacking.

It can go one of three ways , the players can stop the rubbish about how they love playing for MP and start to play like they should and give the title a bit of a shake.

We can stutter and stumble our way to 4th place.

Capitulate and miss out altogether.
