1981 semi final against ipswich, couldnt get a ticket for the city end , but didnt matter anyway we had three quarters of the ground, ended up on front page of evening news climbing on top of the fencing, hope to have many more happy days like that soon.

I was there, one of my fave games of all time, the Holte end rocked...

Me too ....... i had the same feeling after this game that i had after the Gillingham play-off game , total elation.

We got the better of a superb Ipswich side in that semi-final , and Ipswich WERE a great side around that time make no mistake ........ when Power scored that free kick half of the Holte End just erupted , and i was stuck right at the top of it!

In almost 40 years of watching City , home and away , i'd rate this game in the top five ........ it was just an unforgettable occasion.

anyone remember the final? My old man was telling me him n my uncle were in the spurs end. Can't remember who it was but when we scored he ran over to them as they were cheering like 2 dick eds! Me dad met the guy who scored in the pub two weeks later and asked if he remembered them and he just said, "was that you? mad cnuts!" top stuff.

the picture as paul power lined the free kick up.
the younger blues wont no what were on about but was a fantastic day against the best team in the land then, and we must have had 35thousand there that day

Yes, out of 48,000- Ipswich had a cracking team, but we just outnumbered them, outsang them and intimated them from the first whistle!!!!

Agreed, was saying to one of my lads the other day, best City day out I have had. The support that day was sensational.

20 yrs of age at the time, not a care in the world. Happy days.
