Watch this "My Tram Experience"

Appalled isn't the word.

I'm all for freedom of speech, and I understand that we have to put up with ignorant sewer scum like this from time to time in order to preserve that. The problem for me is that through her bile and actions, she has put her child in possible danger and I think that is where the line is drawn. Putting the well-being of an innocent kid in jeopardy should be dealt with severely.

Take the kid off her. That should be punishment enough. She's entitled to her opinion as loathsome as it might be, but whilst she's causing volatile situations in that manner there's no way that she should be responsible for anybody but herself.

common sense has to prevail in circumstances such as this. i'm all for freedom of speech but instead of allowing a definite line with what can and can't be said i feel the authorities (and the public) should stamp out what THEY feel is morally wrong (i'm not saying this doesn't already happen). somebody should have placed a citizens arrest on her and handed her over to the police, then let the courts figure out what should be done.

if i was on a train ans some moronic racist was spouting that bollocks i'd have taken the child off her and reprimanded her, then called the police.

wouldn't it be perfectly legal to place a citizens arrest on somebody, especially with the witnesses and video evidence and if I called the police?

bit of a grey area especially as she is likely to cause a fuss and you would have to use a certain amount of force, she was lucky she had a kid on her lap or i think she would have got a good kicking, i congratulate some of those passengers for their restraint
