You can bet your life that the only reason she wasn't slapped, or kicked in right in the fucking face, or even bludgeoned to a pool of blood and bones, is that she had a kid sat on her lap.

I am inclined to agree with you but it may never happen, and certainly not in our lifetime. I wasn't condoning that sort of action, just simply saying that that is more than likely what would have happened, and in fact does happen, all to often.
